Personality Perspective…Extending Grace
We tend to think that the “bad, negative behaviors” in others cannot exist within us. And feel we are somehow more “righteous and good” by having practices to keep these behaviors at bay within our selves. Why do we not see the reverse? That the compassionate, empathetic, kind, loving person we practice being, is within that other person as well. We only recognize their negative, and fight against it existing within us. Choosing not to acknowledge that the kinder things in us also exist in them. And we can choose to focus on that part of the person as well.
That is Grace. Giving forgivness and absolution that has not been earned, but is always deserved and neccesary.
